2019/20 Annual Member Survey

To our valued members,

We want to hear from you!

We have reached the end of the 2019/20 year and are doing some self-reflection. Below is a short, anonymous survey for you to provide us with your feedback and thoughts on Territory Baseball.

For those of you who completed the 2018/19 survey, you will see some similarities which will allow us to compare our performance in your eyes year to year.

Your opinions and feedback will help to shape Territory Baseball for the future. Any insight you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Reflecting on the 18/19 Member Survey:

You told us the most important thing for Baseball NT to do is communicate with our members. You also said you were the most dissatisfied with this.

Over the past 12 months we have addressed this by:

  1. Implementing the online registration platform which provides us with up to date contact information for all our members.
  2. Creating a new website and Facebook page.
  3. Providing members with information directly to their emails.
  4. Attending Association and Club meetings, AGM’s, and events.

Junior Recruitment and Retention was your 2nd highest priority.

Over the past 12 months we have addressed this by:

  1. Employing the Youth Engagement Project Officer (Central Australia) to target Central Australian junior recruitment – a first in Territory Baseball history.
  2. Providing all clubs and identified coaches with junior specific coach development opportunities.
  3. Implementing the Darwin Tball Competition in August 2019, which has developed into a Coach Pitch bridging program in 2020.
  4. Providing pathway opportunities for our current juniors by creating a partnership with Baseball Queensland.

Other major priorities included the development of coaches, scorers, and umpires.

  1. We were successful in receiving funding from the NTIS to create the NT Head of Umpiring program in Darwin and Alice Springs. The program was affected by COVID-19 and will resume in 2020.
  2. We were successful in receiving funding from the NTIS to bring in an interstate scorer to run Level 2 and IT accreditations in Alice Springs and Darwin. These courses were affected by COVID-19 and will be run in 2020.
  3. Baseball NT and the NTIS absorbed the cost for coaches from each Club in the NT and other identified coaches to undertake Driveline Baseball coaching courses
  4. We have developed a new coaching, officials, and volunteers operation plan which will be rolled out in 2020.

We aim to continue building on this momentum in 2020/21.
