BECOME A UMPIRE

Below are the 4 steps needed to become a community baseball umpire in the Northern Territory.


Step 1 – Register with Baseball NT

Being registered with Baseball NT ensures you are insured against injury.

Step 2 – Complete a Working with Children Check (Ochre Card)

All coaches are required to carry a valid Ochre Card (Working with Children Check) from Safe NT.

Usually, there is a $72 fee associated with the check, however if you email  admin@baseballnt.com.au we will be able to provide you with a volunteer form which will bring the fee down to $7.

Step 3 – Complete Child Protection Certificate

Play by the Rules Child Protection certificate teaches what child abuse is and your rights and responsibilities under child protection laws.

Step 4 – Baseball Australia Umpiring Fundamentals Accreditation

Register and login to the Baseball Australia learning system (link below) and select the following training.
