Youth Engagement Project Officer (Central Australia)

As General Manager of Baseball NT, I am thrilled to announce that we have created an employment opportunity in the Central Australia region.

Baseball NT have been successful in securing a short-term pot of funding to support the employment of a Youth Engagement Project Officer.

I would like to acknowledge the efforts of the volunteers from the Alice Springs Baseball Association. They have worked extremely hard over recent times to build a solid governance foundation, an inviting culture, and a junior program that has doubled in size.

Due to their efforts, Baseball NT are confident any program implementation staff undertake in the region will have positive and sustainable outcomes well after the exhaustion of funding.

Further to this, the Youth Engagement Project Officer will also be tasked with delivering regular programs in Tennant Creek.

Tennant Creek has a rich history in Territory Baseball and the call to reinvigorate the sport in the region is growing. Newly appointed Board Director, Dwayne Jones, is currently based in Tennant Creek and will be driving the growth of the sport with the assistance of the Youth Engagement Project Officer.

It is really exciting to have Dwayne on board. He comes with his own extensive history of Territory Baseball, including having played in both of our current associations and representing the NT interstate. I have heard the stories of the glory days where Baseball was played in Darwin, Katherine, Tennant Creek and Alice Springs. Dwayne will be an invaluable resource in my goal of rebuilding in this space.

Applications are now open and will close 9am, Monday February 3rd 2020.
