FINALS TIME IN ALICE SPRINGS

Published Fri 26 Mar 2021

Prepare for a big weekend of baseball in Alice Springs as the Senior Competition comes to a conclusion. It begins Friday night with a third-place clash between the Demons and Panthers. Followed by a Saturday night grand final match up between Venom and the Thinkwater Cubs.

Venom, who will make their first ever grand final appearance, are headed into the game undefeated after finishing top with a 14-0 regular season.

Pitcher Jared Goodman and shortstop Matthew Miccone were listed amongst those who are expected to make notable contributions to Venom’s premiership battle.

Although, Venom’s record puts them as frontrunners, the Thinkwater Cubs are not to be discounted from the race.

After COVID-19 cancelled the previous seasons finals, the Cubs were awarded Minor Premiership, bringing their total to 4 from the last 6 years.

Cubs will be without shortstop Nicholas Whyte and will rely heavily on two-time League MVP and coach Ethan Scobie to deliver the clubs tenth premiership.

Lyel Kempster Baseball Park will be open to the public to come and watch, with canteen and bar facilities available.

First pitch is set for 7pm both nights.
